Sting Major Peewee Double Tournament Champions!
The Ottawa Sting Major Peewee team (93's)
have had two major successes in tournaments
this season already. At the Georgina Minor
Hockey Regional Silver Stick Tournament November
24-27, the team suffered just one bump on
the road. After opening with a 6-3 loss to
Barrie, the squad bounced back and beat Barrie
in the final game 3-1 winning the Regional
silver stick. They are now going to the International
silver stick in Port Huron Michigan at the
end of January.
The team also played in the Bell Capital
Cup in Kanata December 29 - January 1. After
another tough opening game loss to the Santa
Clara Blackhawks, they went on to defeat
the Hollydale Hurricanes and the Crystal
Lake Leafs in the round robin to get into
the semi-final round. After a huge win over
their arch-rival Gloucester Rangers 3-1,
the team posted another 3-1 win over Jokerit
Finland to take home the cup.
Congratulations to all the players and staff

Sting Major Bantams win the cup in Springfield
Mass.!
The Ottawa Sting Major Bantam team (91's)
followed in the footsteps of last year's
team by winning the Springfield Junior PICs
AAA Fall Classic. After squeaking through
the round-robin with a record of 2-wins/2-losses,
the team rolled on to take the championship
with a 4-2 victory over the Long Island Rebels
(who had beaten them in the first round)
in the finals. Could this be a tradition?
Our Major Bantams (90's) last season won
this same tournament! Congratulations to
coach Pat Pelda and the team!
