OTTAWA STING

Success Stories continued

Major Peewee B:

Valley Storm Peewee tournament in Eganville 1 March. The Ottawa Sting Peewee B defeated the Russell River Rats 4-1 and tied the Mississippi Thunder Kings 3-3 to reach the A final against the Pembroke Lumber Kings. The championship game was tied 0-0 with about 3 minutes left when Pembroke took the lead. The Sting tied it up in the dying moments - forcing overtime. Five minutes of 3-on-3 solved nothing. With suspense at a feverish pitch, the game went to a shoot-out. Ottawa Sting forward Jacob Hirsch scored in the 6th round, while Sting goalie Isaac Freda made 6 outstanding saves in the 2-1 victory.

Minor Atom B White:

Ottawa Sting Minor Atom White Finish on Top in T.O.

The Ottawa Sting Minor Atom B White team traveled to Toronto on the March 28-30 weekend for the 14th Annual Toronto Aeros Tournament.  The team played in the "AA" division and met up with some stiff competition but went undefeated in 5 games of hockey to become "AA" Champions.  The team played the Toronto Aeros, Toronto Penquins and Vaughan Rangers in Round Robin Play.  In the Semi Finals they beat the Goulding Park Rangers and the final game saw the Ottawa Sting come from behind to beat the Mississauga Terriers in a 4-2 game.  This tournament was the culmination of a fantastic season for these 9 year old boys.
