A quick note as we head into tryouts.
Please take a look at the updated team schedule for the month of September. There's a lot of hockey! In addition, we have 4 tournaments booked, including our first away tournament in early October.
I think it's important for our group to get this time on ice together before the regular season officially kicks off in October. That said, for most of our players (and families) this will be a significant increase in ice time from previous years.
Please know that players who make the team are expected to attend all practices and games - it's a significant commitment that families should make from an informed position.
I also wanted to quickly mention my expectations for tryouts. Please talk to your child about doing drills as-instructed, not just doing them so they “finish first”. For example, if the drill requires a full stop, evaluators will be looking for a full stop. Most importantly, players should do their best, be proud of their effort on the ice, and have fun!
Thanks, looking forward to Wednesday!
Graeme
