67's To Donate 50% of Gate to René Faucher FundFeb. 7 game to help family of paralyzed local Hockey DadFeb. 1, 2010 (Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's Hockey Club today announced a fundraising initiative for René Faucher, the 40-year old Ottawa man who was paralyzed in a pick-up hockey game in mid-January. The 67's will donate 50% of revenue from this week's online and box office ticket sales to a fund that was established in Faucher's name to support his rehabilitation and living expenses for his wife and three children. “René's accident was a terrible tragedy that could have happened to any of us,” said 67's owner Jeff Hunt. “His skate got caught in a rut and he fell headfirst into the boards. Now, he's paralyzed from the chest down with at least a year of rehab in the hospital and no long-term disability insurance to help his family get through their nightmare. I know our community will rally to support René, his wife Dianne Douglas and their three children.” 67's fans who wish to support the Faucher Douglas Trust Fund by attending this Sunday's game between the 67's and Guelph Storm can do so by visiting www.Ottawa67s.com and clicking on the René Faucher Fundraising icon. Those who prefer telephone orders for tickets can call 613.232.6767, and fans also have the option of visiting the 67's box office in the Coliseum Building at Lansdowne Park or at the Urbandale Centre box office on game day. Please reference the Faucher Douglas Trust Fund when purchasing tickets. Game time is 2:00 PM. More information on the Faucher Douglas Trust Fund is available at local Scotiabank branches and by visiting www.FaucherDouglasTrustFund.com . For More Information Contact:

| Tuesday, December 15, 2009 The Ottawa Sting Major Midget AA Team Participates in the White Ribbon Campaign
The White Ribbon campaign is an international grass-roots men's movement which began in Canada in 1991. It seeks to "make a difference", to educate men and boys about healthy relationships, and it works to end violence against women. Men and boys wear a white ribbon during the two-week period from November 25th (the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women) until December 6th, Canada's National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women (the date of the 1989 massacre of 14 women in Montreal) as a symbol of their opposition to violence against women, and in hope that "Our Future has no Violence Against Women". The Ottawa Sting Major Midget AA Hockey Team: Here's the story of a dynamic group of young hockey players trying to make a difference: They began their fight to end violence against women on Friday, November 27th with an information session by Bailey Reid of "Neighbours, Friends & Families" and OCTEVAW which touched on healthy relationships, violence against women & an intro to the White Ribbon Campaign - a session which was very well received by all of the players. This socially conscientious and thoughtful initiative really took flight when the boys had white ribbons sewn on their sweaters which they wore for their practice. The evening was even covered by CJOH! The players also wore their sweaters the following night, Saturday, November 28th in a game against the Gloucester Rangers (who agreed to wear white ribbons which were sewn on their shorts!) Posters and white ribbons for the spectators were available in the waiting area. On Monday, November 30th, the team played another game, this time on their own turf at Sandy Hill arena against the Kanata Blazers (who were also wearing White Ribbons). Close to 50 white ribbons were distributed to a mix of parents in the waiting room, and the game ended with a brief congratulatory talk by Zac Brunet about the White Ribbon Campaign. The boys continued to wear their sweaters throughout the week - no doubt sparking tons of healthily dialogue! This amazing initiative had many active participants including seasoned Coach Steve Besharah, a roster of young assistant coaches, engaged parents and amazing hockey players. Congratulations to all players, coaches, parents & supporters for an amazing, grassroots campaign aimed at ending violence against women and for setting such a positive and inspiring example for the Ottawa community! Move over Ottawa Senators - There's a new team in town! GO STING GO!!!
